Speaking to another designer friend of mine the other day about business card design, I remembered a flickr photostream that I stumbled across whilst messing around on Google. The gallery is brimming with some of the most amazing, clever, clean, sophisticated, and downright crazy business card designs you’ll ever lay eyes upon. If you fancy stepping away from the usual double/single sided, vertical/horizontal designs that a lot of businesses use then this is the place to go to get some ideas.
Here are some of my favourites, not all of them are designs I would choose, but the creative ideas used on some of them are quite remarkable! Continue reading ‘Cool Business Cards - More design inspiration!’

Over the weekend, I was talking with a friend of mine who is a computer technician and he told me about a bit of software called LogMeIn. It’s a great little program for those of us who are on the move. It allows you to login to your computer at home from anywhere in the world, provided your home computer is turned on and connected to the internet, and the local computer you are using is also connected to the net. This not only benefits the design world, but also the clients that we work for – they too can now browse through thousands of designs to be found on gallery sites all over the web. Strong design associated with your brand, along with a complimentary identity and style carried though your marketing materials can give customers and potential customers a powerful impression of you, your company, your products and services. So you need a graphic designer! Continue reading ‘Logo Design: Why do you need a logo?’
As some of you will know I’ve been working on my new company identity and website for a while now…. Ok, ok, it’s been an eternity. If you are a designer you’ll know that designing something for yourself can be a pain in the backside, with the inevitable create-hate create-hate create-hate problem that all designers struggle with. Continue reading ‘UPDATE: Is the BIG Media Design website ready yet?’
